‘Tortuosa’ is a tree growing up to 30’ in height with upright, spreading, contorted, and twisted branches. It's waxy, bright-green, slender leaves are wavy and curled with whitened undersides. It's autumnal color is frequently golden yellow. Native: China and Korea.

This small tree grows 15-25’. It produces large silky-soft, male catkins in March. The catkins are the reason it is affectionately known as Pussy Willow. This species is not to be confused with the Salix discolor Muhl., the true Pussy Willow, that is native to wet areas in the East. The oblong leaf is slightly toothed. It is dark green above and gray pubescent beneath. Native: Europe to northeast Asia and northern Iran.

This beautiful willow is one of the hardiest and essentially the standard “weeping willow.” It will grow 50-70’ and produce a broad canopy of graceful, golden, weeping branches. The bright-green leaf is silvery beneath and turns golden yellow in the fall. Willows are one of the first trees to leaf out in the spring and the last to drop their leaves in the fall. Their flowers are upright catkins similar to the “Pussy” willow. The fruit is a two-valved capsule containing a number of cottony or silky hairy seeds. Native: Central to southern Europe, to western Siberia and central Asia.
